The first one was a one-yard run by Cedric Benson in the fourth quarter of the infamous Seattle game on Monday night, September 24.

The second one was a two-yard plunge by John Kuhn in the Packers’ loss to the Indianapolis Colts on October 7.

Those are the only two times this year that the Packers have scored a touchdown this season via a running play. Through Week 8, the Pack are one of three teams to score only two TDs on runs. The other two: Jacksonville and St. Louis.

If we go back to the start of the 2010 season, the Packers are one of 10 teams that have scored 25 or less of their touchdowns via runs. The Rams have scored only 18 running touchdowns since 2010, tops in that category.

Here’s a look at the teams that have scored the fewest rushing touchdowns since 2010 (through games of Monday October 29, 2012).

Looking at the Packers history, the team has 11 seasons since the start of the Super Bowl era (1966) when they scored less than 10 TDs rushing in a season. The last time was in 2006 when they had only nine rushing touchdowns. The fewest was five, accomplished in both 1977 and 1990. They had seven rushing TDs in 1992 and 1998; eight TDs rushing in 1970 and 1986; and five seasons (1995, 1996, 1997, 2004 and 2006) where they scored nine TDs via the run.

Again going back to the start of the Super Bowl era, three teams are tied with the fewest rushing TDs in a season, two. They are the 1972 Philadelphia Eagles, the 1995 New York Jets, and the 2005 Arizona Cardinals. Here are the teams that scored fewer than five rushing touchdowns in a season since 1966.

One final note: Of the 32 teams since 1966 to score less than five TDs rushing in a season, only three had a winning record that year: New England (1982, three rushing TDs, 5-4 record); Oakland (1969, four rushing TDs, 12-1-1 record); Washington (1977, four rushing TDs, 9-5 record). In the 11 seasons when the Packers scored less than 10 TDs rushing in a season, their combined record was 95-77. They had a winning record in six of those seasons, a losing record in four seasons, and finished at .500 in the other season.
