Sports Stats ‘on Tapp’ is a sports statistics blog published with a focus on stats that go beyond the numbers.

Following is a look at this week’s NFL schedule and some historical stats on the head-to-head matchups.

Jacksonville vs. Buffalo: The Jaguars hold a slight 6-5 lead in the series. Jacksonville has won two of the last three against the Bills in Buffalo. The Jags have won the last two in the series and four of the last six.

Seattle vs. Chicago: Seattle has won nine and lost six in the series. The two teams have split the last eight games dating back to 2000. The Bears have won three of the last five games played in Chicago. The Seahawks won the last game played between the two teams 38-14 last December in Chicago.

Indianapolis vs. Detroit: The Colts have a 20-18-2 advantage in the series. Indianapolis has won the last three. The Colts have also won four of the last five games played in Detroit. Indy has scored 102 points in the last three games in the series. The last Detroit win was on Nov. 23, 1997.

Minnesota vs. Green Bay: This is the 103rd meeting between the two teams. The Packs has a 53-48-1 lead. Green Bay has won the last four games and has won nine of the last 12. The Packers have won five of the last six played at Lambeau Field. The Packers scored 109 points in the last three games against the Vikes.

Carolina vs. Kansas City: The two teams have played only four times. The teams have split those four games. Carolina has won the last two games. They have split the two games played in Kansas City. The Panthers won the last game in the series 34-0 back in 2008.

New England vs. Miami: Miami holds a 50-43 lead in the series. New England has won the last four games. The Patriots have won four of the last five played in Miami. New England has won eight of the last 10 games between the two teams.

Arizona vs. New York Jets: The Jets have won five games and lost two against the Cardinals. The Jets have won five straight against the Cards. The Jets are 3-1 in games played at home against Arizona. The Jets won the last game played in the series 56-35 in 2008.

San Francisco vs. St. Louis: The two teams tied 24-24 in their first game of the season back on Nov. 11. The 49ers have a 62-61-3 lead in the series. Prior to the tie earlier this season, the 49ers had won seven of the last eight against the Rams. The 49ers have won four of the last five games played in St. Louis. Four of the last five games in the series were decided by eight points or less.

Houston vs. Tennessee: The Titans lead the series 14-7. Houston has won five of the last eight games. The two teams have split the last four games. The Texans won 38-14 earlier this season.

Tampa Bay vs. Denver: The two teams have played seven games with the Broncos winning five of those contests. The Broncos won the last two games, both by a score of 16-13. The Broncos are 3-1 against the Bucs in games played in Denver. Tampa Bay has scored 13 points in each of the last three games against Denver.

Pittsburgh vs. Baltimore: The Steelers hold a 21-15 advantage in the series. The Ravens have won the last three games. The two teams have split the last four games played in Baltimore. Six of the last eight games in the series have been decided by three points. Pittsburgh has scored only 37 points in the last three games.

Cleveland vs. Oakland: Oakland has won 13, the Browns have won eight in the 21 games played. Oakland has won the last two games played at home. Cleveland has won four of the last six. Five of the last six games have been decided by seven points or less.

Cincinnati vs. San Diego: The Chargers have a 19-12 lead in the series. The Chargers have won five of the last six games played in San Diego against the Bengals. San Diego is 8-3 in the last 11 games in the series. San Diego has scored 27 or more points in 10 of the last 11 games against the Bengals.

Philadelphia vs. Dallas: The two teams will play for the 108th time with the Cowboys holding a 60-47 lead in the series. The two teams have split the last 14 games dating back to 2006. Dallas won 38-23 against the Eagles three weeks ago. The Eagles have won the last two games played in Dallas.

New York Giants vs. Washington (Monday): The Giants lead the all-time series 93-64-1. New York won 27-23 in the Oct. 21 game this season. The Giants have won seven of the last nine games in the series. The Giants have won five of the last six games played in Washington.
