Here’s a couple of interesting stats from the just-completed NFL regular season. Both focus on the wins by teams in the second half of the season.
- Eight teams won six or more games in the second half of the 2015 season. The Chiefs went a perfect 8-0; Carolina and Arizona went 7-1. Detroit, Houston, Pittsburgh, Seattle and Washington each went 6-2. Of the above eight teams, seven made the playoffs; the lone non-playoff team were the Lions, thus they had the best record of non-playoff teams in the second half of the 2015 season.
- Four teams won five games in the second half of 2015: Playoff teams Denver and Minnesota and non-playoff teams Indianapolis and the New York Jets. Four teams won four of their final eight games: Cincinnati, Green Bay and New England (all playoff teams) and Buffalo (non-playoff team).
