The first selection in the recent NBA Draft, Markelle Fultz, played one season of college basketball at the University of Washington. He became the highest U-Washington player chosen in the NBA Draft since Bob Houbregs was the #2 pick in 1953.

Fultz was the 57^th player drafted into the NBA from U-Washington and the 14^th player from the university chosen in the first round. Last year the school had two players picked in the first round… Marquese Chriss and Dejounte Murray.

Of the U-Washington players chosen in the NBA Draft, two have played over 1,000 career games in the NBA: James Edwards (1,168) and Detlef Schrempf (1,136).
