The first selection in the recent NBA Draft, Markelle Fultz, played one season of college basketball at the University of Washington. He became the highest U-Washington player chosen in the NBA Draft since Bob Houbregs was the #2 pick in 1953.

Fultz was the 57th player drafted into the NBA from U-Washington and the 14th player from the university chosen in the first round. Last year the school had two players picked in the first round… Marquese Chriss and Dejounte Murray.

Of the U-Washington players chosen in the NBA Draft, two have played over 1,000 career games in the NBA: James Edwards (1,168) and Detlef Schrempf (1,136).
