New Milwaukee Brewers catcher Stephen Vogt hit a pair of home runs in only his third appearance with the team on Friday night. It was his first two-HR game since May 3, 2015. He also had a two-HR game on April 17, 2015.
In his two-HR game on May 3, 2015 versus the Rangers, one of his two homers was off of former Brewers hurler Yovani Gallardo.
Vogt’s first HR of the game last night against the Marlins was off of Edinson Volquez. It was his second career home run off Volquez; he homered off him on April 15, 2016 when Vogt was with the A’s and Volquez was pitching for the Royals.
The Elias Sports Bureau noted that Vogt’s two-HR game for the Brewers was the earliest a new player on the team has had a two-homer game. The earliest a new Brewers player had hit two home runs in a game was in their fourth game.
