Today’s Sports Stat: October 11, 2017

Through the first five weeks of the 2017 NFL season there have been 20 interconference games (games featuring an NFC team versus an AFC team). The AFC has won 10 games and the NFC has won 10 games.

Over the past five seasons, some teams have shown to have more success in interconference games than other teams. Case in point: From 2012 to 2016, two teams, Denver and Seattle, had a winning percentage of .750 or above in these games. The Broncos were 16-4 (.800) in interconference games from 2012-16, while the Seahawks were 15-5 (.750) in games against the AFC from 2012-16. (Note: In interconference games this season, Denver defeated Dallas, while the Seahawks split a pair of interconference contests, winning over the Colts and losing to the Titans.)
