Today’s Sportstat: December 13, 2018
Three teams (Arizona, Oakland and San Francisco) have already lost 10 games in this NFL season. With three games remaining for each of the league’s 32 teams, another 14 teams have at least seven losses and could finish the season with 10 (or more) losses.
In addition to the three teams mentioned above, here are the 14 other teams that could end the 2018 campaign with double-digit losses (current number of losses noted below):
7: Carolina, Cleveland, Denver, Green Bay, Philadelphia, Washington
8: Cincinnati, Detroit, New York Giants, Tampa Bay
9: Atlanta, Buffalo, Jacksonville, New York Jets
There are currently five teams that have not lost 10 or more games in a season this decade: Green Bay, New England, New Orleans, PIttsburgh and Seattle. Of these five, the only team in danger of losing 10 or more this season are the Packers; they would have to lose all three of their remaining games to reach 10 losses for the season.
The Patriots hold the mark for longest time since losing 10 or more games in season. They last lost double-digits in a season in 2000.
Here are the last seasons each of the 32 NFL teams lost 10 or more games in a season (through games of December 10, 2018).
