LeBron James last night became the third player in NBA history to have 2,000 or more points in 10 or more seasons. James joins Karl Malone (12 2,000-point seasons) and Michael Jordan (11 2,000-point seasons) on this exclusive list,.
It’s interesting to note that while James has amassed 10 2,000-point seasons since he came in the league in 2003-04, there are a handful of NBA franchises that have not had a 2,000-point scorer on their team in a very, very long time.
The Memphis Grizzlies franchise has not had a 2,000-point scorer in their career. The closest they got was in 1997-98 when Shareef Abdur-Rahim scored 1,829 points, the franchise record.
Here is a look at the teams that have not had a 2,000-point scorer this century. (Current franchise city is noted.)
Last year with a 2,000-point scorer
Never: Memphis
1979-80: Los Angeles Clippers (World B. Free)
1989-90: Indiana (Reggie Miller)
1992-93: Atlanta (Dominique Wilkins)
1996-97: Charlotte (Glen Rice)
1996-97: Sacramento (Mitch Richmond)

LeBron James had a pair of three-pointers in his team’s loss to San Antonio on Sunday. Those two treys give him 101 for the season, the 10th season in his career that he had 100 or more three-pointers. By reaching that milestone, he became the 14th player in NBA history with 10 or more seasons with 100 or more three-pointers made.
James is one of 60 players this season that have 100 or more three-pointers. Leading the way is Houston’s James Harden with 215.
Ray Allen tops the list of most seasons with 100 or more three-pointers with 17.
Following are the 14 players who have 10 or more seasons with 100 or more threes made in a season.
17: Ray Allen
15: Reggie Miller, Paul Pierce
14: Jason Terry
13: Jamal Crawford, Kyle Korver

LeBron James earlier this week became the seventh NBA player to amass 30,000 points in a career (he is the eighth player if you add Julius Erving’s ABA point total to his NBA numbers).
James and Dirk Nowitzki are both members of the 30,000-point club and are still active. There are ten active players (in addition to James and Nowitzki) who have 18,000 or more career points. Whether or not any of these will join James and Nowitzki is up for debate, but here is a look at those 10 players (their age in years and days in noted after their career points totals).
Carmelo Anthony, 24,970 (33 years-240 days)
Vince Carter, 24,687 (40-363)
Dwyane Wade, 21,782 (36-007)
Pau Gasol, 20,491 (37-202)
Joe Johnson, 20,221 (36-209)
Kevin Durant, 20,157 (29-117)
Jason Terry, 18,735 (40-131)
Tony Parker, 18,716 (35-252)
Jamal Crawford, 18,529 (37-310)
Zach Randolph, 18,299 (36-192)
If I was a betting man, Durant is more than likely to reach 30,000 in his career… Anthony has an outside chance… other than those two, I don’t see another of the other 10 players listed above reaching the 30,000-point mark in their careers.

Earlier this week (Monday, January 1, to be exact), Toronto Raptors DeMar DeRozan scored 52 points in his team’s win over the Milwaukee Bucks. DeRozan became the first opposing player to score 50 or more points against the Bucks since LeBron James tallied 55 in a February 20, 2009 game against the Bucks.
This was the 12th game in Bucks’ history that an opposing player scored 50 against Milwaukee. It has been done by 10 different players; both LeBron James and Michael Jordan scored 50 or more in a game twice against the Bucks. Utah’s Karl Malone holds the record for most points scored against the Bucks with 61. He scored 61 in 33 minutes in a game in 1990.
Here is a look at the 12 times in which an opponent scored 50 or more points against the Bucks in a contest.
61-Karl Malone, 1990
55-LeBron James, 2009
55-Jermaine O’Neal, 2005
54-Michael Adams, 1991
54-Allen Iverson, 2004
53-Dale Ellis, 1989
52-DeMar DeRozan, 2018
52-LeBron James, 2005
50-George Gervin, 1982
50-Allen Houston, 2003
50-Michael Jordan, 1987
50-Michael Jordan, 1989
The Bucks lost nine of the 12 games where an opponent scored 50-plus… seven of the games were played on the road, five in Milwaukee… the most points scored by an opponent in Milwaukee is 55 by LeBron James in 2009… the oldest opponent to tally 50 or more against the Bucks was Allen Houston at age 31 and 330 days.
