Atlanta Braves rookie pitcher Ty Blach had three RBI in the Braves’ 11-2 win over the A’s yesterday. He became the third Giants’ rookie pitcher since 1958 to drive in three runs in a game and the third rookie pitcher to have three RBI in a game in the majors this season.

Tony Cloninger holds the MLB record for most RBI by a pitcher in a game with nine. He had a pair of grand slam home runs in a game for the Atlanta Braves versus San Francisco on July 3, 1966. Since 2000, the most RBI in a game by a pitcher is six… Chris Carpenter (St. Louis) did it on October 1, 2006 and Micah Owings (Arizona) did it on August 18, 2007.

The Brewers record for most RBI by a pitcher in a game is four, held by four different pitchers: George Lauzerique (1970), Jeff Juden (1998), Tomo Ohka (2006) and Shaun Marcum (2011)
